The Galibier Thabor ski area
From Valloire and the hotel
In winter, our hotel, located near the 6-seater detachable chairlift of Les Verneys, invites you to enjoy the joys of skiing in the Galibier-Thabor ski area.
The ski area includes the resorts of Valloire and Valmeinier and has 150 km of runs and 30 lifts. With more than 70 % of its surface located above 2000 m of altitude, the domain benefits from an ideal snow cover between December and April. Right next to the hotel, on the Verneys slope, its Piou Piou club and its French Ski School allow beginners of all ages to gently learn about the pleasures of skiing. The more experienced can join the 4 slalom courses or the 3 international competition runs.
And if you want to fill up on adrenaline, go to the freestyle areas of the domain: the snowpark, the ski cross, the time zone and the other fun areas. The snowpark offers an expert park with seven modules and a medium park with three modules.
During the summer periodThe alpine pastures of Valloire are green again and invite you to experience new sensations. Hiking enthusiasts will be delighted by the variety of circuits proposed around the village.
They can, for example, take the 3 lakes path which will lead them from the grassy slopes to the imposing peaks of the Galibier or, from the hotel, take the "Balais balcony" path which will allow them to enjoy superb panoramas over the valley, while discovering pastoral life between restored sheepfolds, herds and marmots. If you prefer to spend your time on two wheels, the resort offers you a huge playground, the jewel of which is undoubtedly the Galibier pass, the star of the Tour de France.
Mountain bike enthusiasts will also find first-rate facilities, certified by the FFC for cross-country. On the programme: 155 km of signposted paths, 11 trails for all levels and a bike park with 33 km of tracks... But, to vary the pleasures, many other activities await you: microlighting, paragliding, climbing, via ferrata, adventure park, horse riding, fishing or even a zip line descent over the Lac de la Vieille.
